SAVE in the news - January - February 2024

The Sunday Times plugged SAVE and our Buildings at Risk register in a big piece on the expense of maintaining country estates – and the imaginative ways some owners find to keep them afloat. The Manchester Evening News interviewed the co-author of SAVE’s Boom Not Bust report and splashed his views on development and heritage across a double-page spread. Our senior conservation officer Ben Dewfield-Oakley appeared on local radio talking about the latest on Ayr Station Hotel. And the sudden collapse of Sheffield’s much-loved Market Tavern pub – just after SAVE had offered our help – made headlines across the region including the BBC and Yorkshire Post. It also attracted the interest of a number of investigative journalists including Now Then.
