SAVE’s key role in the M&S campaign secured extensive press coverage including in The Standard, The Telegraph, Architect’s Journal, The Arts Newspaper, Building Design, Financial Times, The Guardian, and the BBC. SAVE director Henrietta Billings wrote an article in Architecture Today, was interviewed on Times Radio with Griff Rhys Jones, and visited Oxford Street with BBC London.

 

In Scotland, SAVE was mentioned in The Herald in an article about the fight to save the remains of Paisley’s Territorial Halls from demolition, with our Scottish petition also featured.

 

SAVE’s founder Marcus Binney was celebrated in the Catholic Herald “as one of the unsung heroes of the last 50 years.” The article notes that he has “saved more of England’s built heritage than any other person alive.”

 

As Angela Rayner intervenes over a 43-storey tower proposed in the City of London, SAVE got a mention in the Architects Journal for objecting to the scheme which would overshadow London’s oldest Synagogue. Read more and link to the stories.
